so for the non-aiesec people reading this, aiesec has lots of conferences. and aiesec in spain has around 6-7 conferences per year. the conference in july was in granada and the first time the 2009-10 team ran a conference. and let me tell you, it was a blast.

i somehow convinced my team to pay for my best friend marc to come out and chair the conference. it was well worth it. we had a blast and marc was one of the best chairs the country has had in a while. he even made the plenary cry at the end of the conference with an inspirational video. the sessions went smoothly, we only had minor logistical issues, we partied like rockstars and i didnt lose any hair.

i did have to room with two boys...which was interesting seeing as there was no bathroom. in the hotel we were staying with, there was a room with the toilet and the sink was in the room. there was another door and when you opened it, you were in the shower. but the boys were super sweet and got ready and left early every morning so i could shower in peace. it wasn't that bad since we were barely in the rooms anyways.

the delegates at the conference were fantastic! they were also very sweet, lying to me and telling me that my spanish was good. i don't believe them..but they are still very sweet for making me feel better about it :) i even ran two sessions in spanish with the LCPs (non aiesec translation: i ran two sessions in spanish). it wasn't very good, but the delegates were supportive and apparently they understood what i said! so a plus in my books :)

the conference site was unique, we actually had the conference in a private restaurant. you can see the cool light fixtures in the picture. and all of our breaks were in the wine cellar in the basement. unfortunately our breaks didnt include wine, but it was still really cool. probably the classiest venue ever for an aiesec conference. the complete and opposite to this was the meals - mcdonalds, pizza and doners...
