Got back on Sunday from a 10 day trip to Toronto and Ottawa. After walking around downtown Toronto for an endless amount of time on the 4th, we set off to NLDC 07 at Ryerson University. I was SUPER lucky to hang out with Laurel on the 4th as well..my BFF from junior high. its always amazing to see her. NLDC is my least favorite conference out of the 3 in the Canadian conference cycle. Don't get me wrong, i still had a blast - reconnecting with old friends, faciing sessions, meeting new people, partying etc. but relative to the other two.. it just doesn't measure up.

There was a lot of walking between venues, late night downtown Toronto walks with Rahim, late meetings, back massages, drinking games, street meat, hot Italian sausage...... everything that was amazing about this conference was because of the people i had the opportunity to spend time with.

After the conference and all you can eat sushi, i caught a greyhound and went to Ottawa to visit my wonderful cousins. i saw parliament (and cat Parliament..WTF mate) and the market. We went to a hole in the wall called "The Laff" and watched Lucky Ron perform some country music. it was SO unbelievable random but awesome at the same time. I went to a kegger and did my first (five) keg stands too. It was weird, you would never have known that the Ottawa Senators were in the conference finals of the Stanley cup playoffs. when Edmonton was in that situation, you KNEW it. everyone had oilers gear on, flags on cars, you couldn't even think about going down Whyte, but in Ottawa, it was chills.. it seemed like a regular game night and not the playoffs! weird indeed.
