conference

and its conference time again. this time it was in Winnipeg and we were all there for the Western Regional Conference. I flew in Friday morning and Uttam picked me up from the airport a little hungover from partying the night before. We went over to Martin's and woke the rest of the crew up. They were all in the basement and we turned the light and walked down the stairs. I started talking to Jen (From UBC in Vancouver) she just stared at me and then i could actually see the lightbulb go off, she jumped up screaming NITHYA!!!!! and jumped me. Oh good times with my ubc gurlies. we then all piled in the car and hit up the pancake house...mmmm pancakes!

I was one of the faci's (facilitators) for the conference so we went through mini training. Alan and I ran the ICX session and it was flippin awesome. we learned a faci dance and cheers too.. too much fun

opening plenary was a shit show. we did a dance to sex bomb and cheered our faces off. after that was party time! it was toga theme night. i tied a lot of togas that night and saw a lot of nakedness in process. it was uber fun though. we partied it up in the hotel and danced the night away while running around in togas.

the second day was session filled but so much fun. we of course cheered our faces off. that night, when we were waiting in line for dinner, someone turned music on in the plenary room. there was about 10 of us that ran in and had an impromptu dance party..it was HILARIOUS. we started acting out the dance fight in beat it by michael jackson. that night was latin fever night at empire. its a three floored bar that used to be a bank. it had a huge patio too. it was awesome. afterwards we wanted to go for greasy chinese food, but the people in charge of the conference said it would be a little too dangerous. oh by the way winnipeg is ghetto! and downtown is pretty bad. apparently its the murder capital of Canada...super. so we couldnt go. we were out of the bar 2 but the bus only came at 2.30 and it was flippin freezing outside. so there was about 30 of us that crammed into the tiny bus shelter near by. good times were had by all. that night back at the hotel was chills and we just all talked and hung out in rooms.

last day was simulation and it was amazing. Alan (Calgary) and I had a blast running the ICX track and talking to everyone! the afternoon was great and I was so proud to be apart of the Edmonton group - there were so motivated and enthusiastic...woot! then we all got dolled up for the banquet. Edmonton wracked in the awards. We won both of the top awards of the night - top marketer (Marc!) and inspirational delegate (me) ... i was SOOOOO amazingly shocked. Shirley called my name and i just sat there and didnt know what to do. it took me a few seconds to get up and go. everyone was standing and Toba made a chant for me and everything. it was insane

that last night was a whole mess of emotions but it was amazing. i am so inspired by the conference - by the people, the stories, the connections and the core work.
